Privacy policy

This policy explains what UpAgent ("we") collects when you use upagent.app and my.upagent.app, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account data — your email address and a salted hash of your password. We never store your password in plain text.
- Upwork data — when you connect Upwork, we receive an access token through Upwork's official authorization flow. We never see your Upwork password. With that token we read your freelancer profile and job postings you search for or paste, so we can score them.
- Usage data — the jobs you analyze, the scores and drafts we generate, and basic logs (IP address, browser, timestamps) used for security and debugging.
- Marketing attribution — if you arrive from a campaign link, we store the campaign tags (for example utm_source) with your account to understand which channels work.
- Messages — anything you send through our contact form.
How we use it
- To run the service: score jobs, draft proposals, and show your history.
- To send account emails such as verification and password-reset codes, and job alerts you turn on.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and fix problems.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your data to advertise to you on other sites.
AI processing
To analyze a job, we send the job description and relevant parts of your profile to our AI model provider. They process it only to return a result to us under their API terms and do not use it to train their models.
Storage and security
- Upwork tokens are encrypted at rest. All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
- Data is stored on servers we operate, with daily backups kept for 7 days.
- Access to production data is limited to the people who operate the service.
Your choices
- You can disconnect Upwork at any time from the Upwork Connection page; we then delete the token.
- You can ask us to export or delete your account and data through the contact page. We complete deletion requests within 30 days.
